Mini Spiritual Retreat
How Good Can God Be?

Do you need time to reset and refocus? Come away to the quiet, intimate setting of Sara Thurman’s creative space. Join me in my own home and creative studio to create with God. Our time will include taking walks, creating with paint (choices of watercolor, acrylic, and cold wax), writing sessions on journaling with God, prose, and time to outline your next project, and quiet time sitting with Jesus. You will leave refreshed and refocused for whatever the rest of 2023 holds.

Only ten spots are available to keep the setting intimate in my studio. Attendees may choose to stay at Sara’s home or at a nearby Airbnb. Please note that there are only four spots available at Sara’s home and Airbnb’s fill quickly in Wimberley, so rooms need to be booked quickly. Sara will be happy to help you secure a room locally if you would like.

 

Cost includes all art and writing supplies, breakfasts and lunches and two dinners. One dinner will be at a wonderful local restaurant where we will enjoy a delicious meal and live music. Attendees will be responsible for their meal and drinks.

    • 9:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m. - Create in the Studio

    • 12:00 -1:00 p.m. - Lunch

    • 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. - Free Time to Meet with Jesus, Rest, Get Quiet, Create.  For those who desire, Sara will have a 30-minute individual session of prayer and direction with you.

    • 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. - Meet together and Process the Day 

    • 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. - Dinner in Wimberley with live music

  • Saturday 8-5-23

    • 6:30 - 7:00 a.m. - Breakfast

    • 7:00 - 9:30 a.m. - Wimberley Market Day

    • 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. - Walk and shop in town

    • 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. - Lunch at Sara’s home

    • 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. - Create time in the studio; Finish any art or writing pieces

How Good Can God Be—A Creative Spiritual Retreat Practicing Hearing the Voice of God in the Creative Process with Scripture, Writing, and Watercolor Painting - Three nights and four days at Deer Creek Camp  in Medina, Texas.

 

Come away to hear the voice of Jesus in new ways as you quiet yourself and connect with God through guided scripture readings, writing, and painting with watercolor. Develop new friendships in a safe setting and expect to experience breakthroughs and healing in your relationship with God. Pray into and practice skills to allow your unique creative gifts to come to light. You were created to create and will enjoy this experience of freedom in your creativity. Time in prayer, worship and creativity are woven into the practices during our time together. The Holy Spirit is our number one teacher and guide, and we will be following the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Free time will be available daily to enjoy the beautiful Medina River and Deer Creek Camp, a place of holy intersection with nature on a gorgeous retreat property to hear God's voice.

All inclusive with accommodations in air-conditioned Hill Country cabins with a short walk to the bathhouses. You will need to bring your own linens for single beds, including towels and toiletries.

Cost includes watercolor sets and art journals and writing supplies, breakfasts, lunches and  dinners.
